Almost a year has passed since the dreamy Berlin band Fenster released their latest album The Room on Leipzig based label Altin Village and Mine. For the genesis of their album, JJ Wheil (vocals and bass), Lucas Ufo (keyboard), Elias Hock (drums) and Jonathan Jarzyna (vocals and guitar) retreated to a secluded house where they wrote and recorded their album cut off from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. There’s a catchy quality to the dreamy-psychedelic tracks on The Room, so captivating that the album title ceases to exist as a mere label but becomes a sonic invitation to a metaphorical space instead. Inside, everything is smooth, everyone is friendly and feeling at ease – it’s a state they don’t only evoke on their albums but also transmit at ever show they play – letting go to see the world through rose‑tinted glasses, it’s something that Fenster allow you to do.
